Subject Matter Expert -Master's Program in Nursing - Nursing Informatics
* Independent Contractor (Part-time, Temporary Position)

POSITION SUMMARY

Established in 1899, South University is a private academic institution dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the intellectual, social and professional development of a diverse student population. South University offers personalized student attention and high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs in arts and sciences, business, health professions, nursing, and pharmacy across its campuses and online.

The Subject Matter Expert is responsible for creating program documentation for South University's master's program in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Informatics. The Subject Matter Expert works closely with a team of South University Academic Affairs personnel (including the relevant College Dean) and other education experts to refine the program components to meet the needs of South University's student population within time, resource, and budget requirements.

As an expert in a wide range of Nursing Informatics educational and professional domains, the Subject Matter Expert develops written deliverables including the catalog program description, program outcomes, course descriptions, and competitive program analysis. In addition, the Subject Matter Expert reviews content developed by the team to ensure that prescribed quality and operational objectives are obtained.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., D.Sc., or DNP) in Nursing, with significant academic coursework or a specialization in Nursing Informatics required
* Knowledge of and experience with current education trends, professional standards, program design, and course design in Nursing Informatics required
* Current teaching experience in master's level Nursing courses in Nursing Informatics required
* Current, unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse required
* Professional work experience in Nursing Informatics preferred
* Knowledge of online pedagogy and instructional design preferred
* Position is virtually based and must reside within the United States
* Ability to balance academic quality and integrity with business imperatives
* Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the drive to meet any and all deadlines in the program development project plan
* Technologically independent (including access to broadband Internet)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to act effectively and work collaboratively as a member of a virtual team
