Grand Canyon University invites applications for open online adjunct faculty positions within the College of Nursing. We are looking for individuals who have an enthusiasm to share their knowledge with undergraduate students at our University.
Immediate needs for Adjuncts in:
Nursing Educator (Advanced Health Assessment) - APRN, MD, DO, DMH, Ph.D or DNP with Advanced Practive RN or Masters-Prepared Nurse with extensive experience in Advanced Health Assessment; experience teaching at the graduate level; CNE certification required.
Nursing Educator (Advanced Pathophysiology and Pharmacology) - Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacologist, Pathophysiologist, MD, DO, DNP, PhD or Masters Prepared Nurse with extensive study and experience in both pathophysiology and pharmacology; experience teaching at the graduate level; CNE certification required.
Nursing Educator (Education Seminar I & II, Nursing Education Practicum) - Ph.D or other Terminal Degree or Masters in Nursing with area of concentration in Education or Post Masters Certificate in Nursing Education; minimum 2 years formal academic teaching experience in Role of Nurse Educator and Curriculum Development & Teaching Strategies & Assessment/Evaluation of Curriculum (all areas are required); CNE certification required.
Nursing Educator (Evidence-Based Practice Project) - Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field; Active and Unencumbered RN license in AZ or compact states; Minimum 2 years post-masters relevant work experiencein Health Care Policy; Minimum 2 years academic teaching experience.
The Adjunct for the College of Nursing (online classes) will provide instruction that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies, and other trends that reflect advances in specific areas of the discipline associated with the individual's teaching assignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
* Teaches one or more subjects within prescribed curriculum.
* Compiles bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
* Stimulates class discussions.
* Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
* Remains current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise.
* Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
* In order to teach for GCU in the College of Nursing, you must have a valid RN and/or AP license in either AZ or a compact state. A complete list of states which have enacted the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) can be found at: www.ncsbn.org/158.htm.
* Additional requirements depending on the subject matter taught in the class.
