Grand Canyon University invites applications for open online adjunct faculty positions within the College of Nursing. We are looking for individuals who have an enthusiasm to share their knowledge with undergraduate students at our University.
Immediate needs for Adjuncts in (Please only apply to this position if you would like to be considered for the following courses:
Theoretical Foundation for Nursing Roles and Practice - Ph.D in Nursing Preferred; MSN Required; Active and Unencumbered RN license in AZ or Compact State; Minimum 2 years post-masters relevant work experience in Health Care Policy; minimum 2 years academic teaching experience.
Health Care Research Analysis and Utilization - Ph.D in Nursing Preferred; MSN Required; Active and Unencumbered RN license in AZ or Compact State; Minimum 2 years post-masters relevant work experience in Health Care Policy; minimum 2 years academic teaching experience.
Ethics, Policy and Finance in the Health Care System - Ph.D in Nursing Preferred; MSN Required; Active and Unencumbered RN license in AZ or Compact State; Minimum 2 years post-masters relevant work experience/research experience; minimum 2 years academic teaching experience.
The Adjunct for the College of Nursing (online classes) will provide instruction that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies, and other trends that reflect advances in specific areas of the discipline associated with the individual's teaching assignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
* Teaches one or more subjects within prescribed curriculum.
* Compiles bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
* Stimulates class discussions.
* Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
* Remains current with new trends and development in his/her field of expertise.
* Other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
* In order to teach for GCU in the College of Nursing, you must have a valid RN and/or AP license in either AZ or a compact state. A complete list of states which have enacted the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) can be found at: www.ncsbn.org/158.htm.
* Additional requirements depending on the subject matter taught in the class.
