The Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting at Fort Hays State University is seeking qualified adjunct professors to include in a pool of faculty available to teach on-line courses in economics, finance and accounting. These courses include principles of micro- and macro-economics, managerial finance and accounting principles I and II. Most likely, the number of courses for an individual adjunct will be one course per semester.

Minimum Qualifications: Any adjunct selected should either be Academically Qualified (AQ) or Professionally Qualified (PQ) according to AACSB standards. Preference will be given to AQ candidates. According to AACSB accreditation requirements, an AQ faculty must have a Ph.D. in Economics to teach economics courses, a Ph.D. in finance to teach finance courses, and a Ph.D. in accounting to teach accounting courses. Additionally, faculty must publish at least two articles in their discipline in a rolling 5 year time period. A person is also considered AQ if they are within 3 years of having received ABD status or 5 years of receiving their Ph.D. A Professionally Qualified (PQ) candidate, according to AACSB accreditation requirements, must have a Master's degree in the teaching discipline and have held a position of significant responsibility in a firm/organization for a number of years in a field directly related to the teaching area. The person must have held the career position within the past 5 years. Candidates must have teaching experience, preferably with on-line classes, and knowledge of Blackboard and communication software. Good communication skills, written and oral, are required. Computer and Internet access are necessary. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible for employment in the U.S. Successful applicants will have consented to and successfully completed a criminal background check.

The letter of application should include information about your career development and why you are interested in teaching an on-line course, a description of your participation in professional activities, and a production of intellectual contributions within the most recent five years (AQ candidates should identify all peer reviewed publications). Any candidate who claims to be PQ should include a description of any professional qualifications (beyond academic degrees) including professional experience relevant to the courses to be taught, indicating duration of experience and level of responsibility. The curriculum vitae must indicate the applicant's academic degrees (including dates and disciplines) in addition to the courses that the applicant has previously taught, when and where. Only completed applications will be considered.
