Position Summary
Kaplan University offers academic-year, non-tenured track teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicated to a quality baccalaureate and masters program. Key Job Responsibilities Overall time commitment for this position:
-Teaching pre-scheduled, real time weekly synchronous seminars in which students and instructors log onto Kaplan's platform and discuss the assigned topic for the week.
-Development and posting of the class syllabi in the class Message Board.
-Maintaining two hours of virtual office hours per week for each class.
-Reading internal student and administrative mail messages and responding within 24 hours.
-Participating in message board discussions with students.
-Keeping grade sheets current and providing qualitative feedback on student assignments.
-Delivering mid-term and final grades to Kaplan's University Registrar.
-Portfolio assessments.

Required Qualifications
-Master's degree in Business or Accounting with 18 semester hours of Accounting at graduate or higher level and published in the last 5 years.
-Additionally, we are looking (preferably) for candidates with a minimum of 2 years online, higher education teaching experience.
-Two journal articles published in the past 5 years or 1 journal article and two refereed conference papers published in proceedings.
-Other credentials as established by the School.
-Microsoft Office suite.
-Exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office applications and adobe connect meeting technology.
-Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
