Position Description
Adjunct faculty of the School of Business and Leadership will be responsible to teach adult students curriculum established by IWU in our facilitator model of instruction as opportunities become available. Most onsite classes are held one night per week for 5-6 weeks, 6-10 pm. Each course may include up to 25 students.

Adjunct faculty members will:
* Demonstrate expertise in their content area
* Facilitate engaging individual and group instructional activities
* Motivate students to actively participate in all aspect of the educational process.
* Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
* Utilize appropriate technology for instruction (e.g. Power-point, Blackboard, Internet Resources)
* Incorporate Biblical principles into their content area
* Communicate with all IWU constituents in a professional and academic manner
* Take advantage of teaching moments and other communication opportunities through the use of weekly announcements and emails.
* Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
* Respond to student questions within 24 hours of requests.
* Grade student assignments, giving substantive feedback and critical evaluation, within one week of the due date for the assignment.
* Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies
* Fulfill three faculty development sessions per year.
* Complete other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills
Qualifications:
According to the Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Desired Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Business with full-time Marketing experience.

Additional Qualifications:
* A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
* An ability to model and communicate the Christian experience to students as related to life and learning
* Competence in MS Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint).

The William Peace School of Professional Studies at Peace College is currently seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach in our accelerated 7 week fully online program in the following academic areas:

· English
· Anthropology

Qualifications:
· A Master's or Doctorate degree in the teaching discipline or Master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
· Related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes may be used to supplement academic credentials if warranted.
· Two years of experience teaching college level courses;
· Established record of teaching excellence and demonstrated leadership experience;
· A minimum of two years of work experience required;
· One year of experience teaching at an accelerated degree-completion program preferred.

Position Summary:
The Adjunct Teaching Assistant assists instructors in online writing-intensive courses by providing students with written feedback and guidance. To meet the demands of our rapidly increasing enrollment, Ashford University currently is accepting resumes for Online Adjunct Teaching Assistants. The Adjunct Teaching Assistant reports to the Associate Director of Writing Services.

Essential Job Duties:
* Working in an online learning environment, provides guidance to nontraditional undergraduates in accelerated five-week courses.
* Delivers feedback on student writing assignments using Web-based education software.
* Coordinates with the course instructor and the Writing Services department via Ashford University's online learning platform.

Requirements:
* Strong commitment to student-centered learning.
* A willingness and ability to meet the time demands of an accelerated learning environment.
* Interest in working as an assistant to instructors in an online environment.
* Proficiency (or willingness and ability to become proficient) in Web-based course management and assessment software.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook applications.
* A willingness and ability to provide supportive, one-on-one guidance to nontraditional entry-level undergraduates.
* A willingness and ability to provide informed written feedback on student writing assignments.

A writing sample is required for consideration for the Online Adjunct Teaching Assistant position. Please choose one of the scenarios that is listed below and attach your two-page writing sample in the "attachment 2" section.
-Create a scenario and describe your response to a nontraditional student seeking your support.
-Discuss how you think a teaching assistant might instill confidence and yet provide constructive criticism to a student.
-Describe a time when you have had the opportunity to evaluate a student's written work and had to provide constructive feedback.

Education:
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in English, Writing Studies, or a writing-intensive field such as Communications or Journalism is required. Or a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education with emphasis in English, Writing Studies, or in a writing-intensive field such as Communications or Journalism. Or a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Rhetorical studies, ESL, or Linguistics.
