Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ is expanding its Distance Education course offerings and is recruiting candidates to teach Distance Education courses. Positions are available are:

-Astronomy
-Chemistry
-Environmental Science
-Engineering: Specifically Graphics, Statics, Dynamics

The Requirements for the above positions are:

A. Relevant Masters Degree from an accredited institution in the academic discipline or related field in the subject that will be taught.
B. Two years of College teaching in an online distance education environment using LMS.
C. Candidate must have a proven track record of being a dynamic communicator and facilitator, being student centered and using creative pedagogical and technological development techniques in the online teaching and learning environments.

Applications will only be accepted online and requires a completed Professional application, current resume and cover letter. Transcripts are optional attachments. Please list in cover letter the LMS systems you have used and courses you have taught and attach three letters of recommendation from schools you have taught online courses.

TITLE

Subject Matter Expert -Undergraduate Coursework in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry
* Independent Contractor (Part-time, Temporary Position)

POSITION SUMMARY

Established in 1899, South University is a private academic institution dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the intellectual, social and professional development of a diverse student population. South University offers personalized student attention and high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs in arts and sciences, business, health professions, nursing, and pharmacy across its campuses and online.

The Subject Matter Expert is responsible for creating and/or reviewing course documentation for South University's undergraduate courses in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry. The Subject Matter Expert works closely with a curriculum development team and other education experts to develop courses to meet the needs of South University's student population within time and resource budget requirements.

As an expert in a wide range of Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry educational and professional domains, the Subject Matter Expert develops written course deliverables. In addition, the Subject Matter Expert reviews content developed by the team to ensure that prescribed quality and operational objectives are obtained.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry required
* Knowledge of and experience with current education trends, program design, and course design in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry required
* Current teaching experience in undergraduate Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry courses required
* Professional work experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry preferred
* Knowledge of online pedagogy and instructional design preferred
* Position is virtually based and must reside within the United States
* Ability to balance academic quality and integrity with business imperatives
* Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the drive to meet any and all deadlines in the program development project plan
* Technologically independent (including access to broadband Internet)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to act effectively and work collaboratively as a member of a virtual team
